Financial Awareness

Who Should Attend

Anyone who needs to understand financial processes and add financial tools and financial awareness to their skill set.

Being ‘IT literate’ is almost taken for granted now. In today’s organisations however, it is just as important, arguably even more important, to be ‘Finance literate’. Our financial awareness programme enables participants to become familiar with the financial processes within a business so that they can understand what Finance Staff are talking about and also use financial tools to help in their decision making processes.

At the end of this training programme participants will be able to:

  • Understand the need for budgeting and learn ways of planning a budget
  • Identify the different costing methods used in finance
  • Be familiar with the key accounting documentation used in business
  • Understand the difference between solvency, liquidity and profitability
  • Prepare a simple cash flow, profit and loss account and balance sheet
Communicate with colleagues and commercial contacts effectively
  • Understand how one’s decisions may affect the profitability of the organisation
  • Prepare a simple cash flow, profit and loss account and balance sheet

The financial awareness programme takes the form of a participative workshop with the use of practical exercises and a Video Arts video to reinforce the training.
